Leitrim football manager Sean Hagan has stepped down after just one season in charge of the Connacht side.

Hagan's tenure got off to a good start as Leitrim retained the FBD Connacht League, However, they finished mid-table in their subsequent Allianz League Division 4 campaign.

The championship saw defeats to Roscommon in the Connacht quarter-final and to Down in the qualifiers.

Hagan cited work commitments, the manner of their loss to Down and the commitment of some panel members leading up to the clash with the Mourne County as the main reasons why he decided to quit now.
