Armagh players Andy Mallon, Brendan Donaghy and Kieran Toner will miss the Orchard County's Ulster SFC semi-final clash with Monaghan on 28 June after failing to get one-match suspensions overturned.

The trio were banned following a pre-match brawl between the Armagh and Cavan sides in their Ulster SFC quarter-final on 8 June.

The Irish Independent reports that at a meeting of the Central Hearings Committee (CHC) in Croke Park last night, the charge was downgraded to 'rough play' but that the bans were upheld.

Martin Dunne and Fergal Flanagan of Cavan were also banned for the incident but did not contest their suspensions.

Both sides were fined €5,000 for the ugly scenes at Clones.
