Leitrim captain Emlyn Mulligan says his side won’t show any fear when they take on Roscommon in the Connacht Senior Football Championship in Dr Hyde Park on Sunday, 3pm.

The teams are coming off contrasting league campaigns with the Rossies, whose Under-21 side reached the All-Ireland final, winning promotion to Division 2, while Leitrim remain in the bottom tier having finished fourth in the table.

Mulligan told RTÉ Sport: “We’re not in any fear heading to Hyde Park. The boys are really looking forward to it.

"Leitrim and Roscommon love the rivalry, the fans especially. As a GAA player you really look forward to playing in [these games].

“It’s going to be an intriguing battle. Roscommon have some quality players – Cathal Cregg, Senan Kilbride, Donie Shine – you could go on all day about them.

"But we know ourselves, on any given day, on any championship day, anything can happen. One thing we have is belief within our own panel.”
