There are fresh injury worries for Kerry star Kieran Donaghy after he was forced off after only nine minutes while playing for his club side, Austin Stacks on Sunday.

Donaghy, had been making his seasonal debut, having been plagued by a persistent injury for several months.

Donaghy had come in the 42nd minute of Austin Stacks’ 0-11 to 1-08 draw against Milltown/Castlemaine, but was forced to withdraw shortly afterwards.

Precise details of the injury were not immediately available.

However, the Irish Independent reported that Austin Stacks chairman Aidan O'Connor confirmed that Donaghy had surgery in Tralee Hospital last night on a dislocated shoulder and had been told he would be out for between eight to 10 weeks.
