Offaly were relegated straight back down to Division 4 of the Allianz Football League after a 1-13 to 1-12 defeat to Limerick in Tullamore.

The one-point loss was the Faithful County's sixth defeat from six in the league and sees Emmett McDonnell’s side back in the bottom tier for 2015.

Meanwhile, Sligo overcame Longford in Markievicz Park by 0-15 to 2-08 and Fermanagh were 2-20 to 3-08 winners over Wexford in Brewster Park.

On Saturday evening Cavan accounted for Roscommon by 0-14 to 1-08 and both sides will play Division 2 football next season after winning promotion.

Longford and Wexford meet next week in Wexford Park looking to avoid joining Offaly on the way to Division 4.

The sides are level on four points each and if Longford avoid defeat they will retain their tier three status.
