Brian Cuthbert has been confirmed as the new Cork football manager.

The Bishopstown club man will take the reigns for a two-year term, with selectors to be announced in the coming days.

Cuthbert was manager of the Cork Minors in 2010 and 2011, winning the Munster title in 2010 and reaching the All-Ireland final in the same year.

He served as a selector with former manager Conor Counihan for the 2013 season.

A primary school principal and winner of a minor All Ireland title with Cork in 1993, Cuthbert is currently chairman of the Cork GAA Development Squads Management Committee.
