Kerry’s Darran O’Sullivan is to undergo surgery on both hips and is set to miss part of the Kingdom’s 2014 Allianz League campaign.

The Glenbeigh-Glencar clubman will have the operation this week, and if it goes well, he’ll return for a second operation within a month.

O’Sullivan has been troubled by the injury since earlier this year, but nevertheless played a crucial part in Kerry’s run in the championship, which ended in defeat to Dublin in a classic All-Ireland semi-final on 1 September.
