Jim McGuinness will continue as Donegal manager for the 2014 season, the county have confirmed.

McGuinness led Donegal to an Ulster and All-Ireland title in 2012 but they disapppointed this season, suffering relegation in the league, defeat in the provincial decider against Monaghan and a quarter-final exit to Mayo.

The defeat to the Connacht champions was a comprehensive one, 4-17 to 1-10, and McGuinness requested time to consider his future.

But he has confirmed a willingness to stay on in the role and will manage the county next season.
