Conor Gormley will miss Tyrone’s All-Ireland SFC semi-final clash with Mayo after the the GAA’s Central Competitions Control Committee handed him a one game suspension.

The CCC have punished Gormley for involvement in a half-time altercation with Monaghan’s Dessie Mone during his side’s quarter-final victory at Croke Park.

Television replays of the incident appeared to show Gormley raise his hands to Mone as the teams went off for the half-time break.

Martin Penrose was red-carded immediately on his return to the pitch for the second half for his part in the fracas but Gormley will now be retrospectively punished also and as things stand, he will miss the semi-final.

Tyrone are understood to preparing an appeal against the decision.
