Westmeath have kept faith with the side that comfortably saw off Carlow for Saturday’s Leinster SFC quarter-final with Dublin at Croke Park.

Dessie Dolan retains his starting place in the team after scoring 0-05 the last day, while John Heslin, who also kept the scoreboard ticking over against Carlow, retains his midfield partnership with David Duffy.

The midlanders last faced Dublin in the Championship in 2009, where they were soundly beaten. Hopes are high that after a good league campaign Pat Flanagan’s side will be more competitive this weekend.

Westmeath: Gary Connaughton; Mark McCallion, Kieran Gavin, Kevin Maguire; Doron Harte, Paul Sharry, John Gaffey ; David Duffy, John Heslin; Kieran Martin, Callum McCormack, James Dolan; Ger Egan, Denis Glennon, Dessie Dolan
