Ciaran Byrne, who spent time with AFL club Carlton, makes his Championship debut for Louth against Laois in the preliminary round of the Leinster SFC on Sunday.

The St Mochta’s man will start at corner-forward in Portlaoise.

Another new name in attack sees Conor Rafferty take the No 12 berth, while John Bingham in the full-back line will also be tasting Championship action for the first time.
