Westmeath have received a boost ahead of their Leinster Football Championship clash against Carlow with Dessie Dolan named in the side.

Dolan featured as a substitute in the Allianz Football League Division 2 league final defeat against Derry and comes into the team for their first Championship outing.

Ger Egan, one of the stars of their excellent league campaign, joins Denis Glennon in a promising attack.

James Dolan has been moved from the half-back line to the half-forward line.

Defender Kieran Gavin captains the side.
