Donegal reported an alleged biting incident during their Allianz National Football League game with Dublin last weekend.

The All-Ireland champions, who were relegated to Division 2 after the drawn match, informed the referee at half-time and Dublin medical staff after the game, of a wound to Paddy McBrearty, which is understood to be the result of an alleged bite.

The Irish Independent reported this morning that a member of the Dublin medical staff examined the injury after the game.

Under-21 star forward McBrearty then had the wound checked out in hospital on Sunday night.

It is understood that the Ulster side will now leave the matter in the hands of the referee, who mentioned the incident in his report.
