Monaghan’s Tomás Freeman is set to be out of action for six to eight weeks after he suffered a fractured jaw during last weekend’s game against Monaghan in the Allianz League.
X-rays later confirmed the fracture.
The Magheracloone clubman, who only returned to the inter-county action at the start of the year, sustained the injury 10 minutes into the second half against the Garden County.
Kieran Hughes fell awkwardly in the clash, and also had to leave the field. However treatment in hospital revealed no ill effects.
Monaghan currently top the third tier of the Allianz League and are away to Roscommon on Sunday next as they continue their promotion push.
