St Brigid’s joint-captain Gearoid Cunniffe says that Ballymun Kickhams’ run to the All-Ireland Club football final hasn’t taken him by surprise.
The Dublin champions saw off Munster kingpins Dr Crokes in the semi-final and Cunniffe says he saw it coming.
“To be honest, I half suspected that they would beat Crokes,” he told the Irish Independent.
“I went to see them in [the Dublin final against Kilmacud] and I couldn’t get over it. They’re a brilliant team.
“Having seen them in that game, the pace that they have, they’re a good team with serious pace throughout the team. They have a lot of lads up front who know how to take their scores.”
The Roscommon and Connacht champions face Ballymun in Croke Park on Sunday, throw-in 3.45pm.
