James Kavanagh has decided to opt out of the Kildare panel for the 2013 season, the county have confirmed.
Kavanagh departs the Lilywhites for personal reasons in what is a major blow to manager Kieran McGeeney.
Kavanagh was an All Star nominee and a vital part of Kildare’s forward line.
New selectors Jason Ryan and Damien Hendy will be part of the Lilywhite management team for the first time this Sunday when they take on Carlow IT in St Conleth’s Park.
