Cork’s Nicholas Murphy has called time on an inter-county playing career that stretches back to 1997.
The Carrigaline clubman was a pivotal figure in the Rebels’ midfield for many years, though latterly he was used an impact sub on the edge of the square.
Murphy played in four All-Ireland finals, with the success over Down in 2010 his only winners medal. He was on the successful Cork teams that won four Allianz League Division 1 titles from 2009-2012.
2006 saw his selection on the All Star team.
Murphy made his championship debut for Cork in the 1998 Munster semi-final defeat to Kerry
