James Horan has added Donie Buckley to the Mayo management team for 2013, the Mayo county board have confirmed.

Buckley comes in following Cian O’Neill’s exit after the All-Ireland final defeat to Donegal.

Buckley was a coach with Kerry in 2011, while he turned down an invitation to act as a selector with the Kingdom this year.

Buckley, who is currently based in Ennis, coached Limerick for three years under Mickey Ned O'Sullivan, while he also had a spell as joint-manager of Clare.

A statement read: "We are delighted to have acquired the services of someone as talented as Donie Buckley and look forward to working with him."
