According to The Irish Examiner, highly regarded coach Cian O'Neill looks likely to leave James Horan's Mayo set-up and switch to a similar role with Kerry, under new manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice
That would appear to end rumours that Donie Buckley would return to the Kerry fold after leaving Jack O’Connor’s backroom team last May.
O’Neill, a lecturer in the University of Limerick, is one of the leading GAA conditioning coaches in the country. He previously spent three years working with the Tipperary hurlers.
Barry Solan, who worked with the Laois footballers this year, is being lined up as O'Neill's replacement on the Mayo ticket.
Ballaghaderreen native Solan also worked with the Poland national soccer team for this year’s European Championships as well as Katie Taylor and Clontarf’s AIL rugby team.
