Adrian Marren hit a hat-trick for Sligo as they earned their first win of the Allianz Football League against Wexford in Markievicz Park.

Marren contributed 3-05 for the Yeats County in a 4-14 to 1-17 win. The matchwinner scored a penalty in just the second minute and Sligo were 12 points in front in the early stages of the second period.

But Wexford came fighting back with PJ Banville finding the net and Ciaran Lyng and Ben Brosnan contributing well.

But Marren completed the treble in stoppage time to seal two points for Kevin Walsh’s side.

Antrim made it two wins out of two in Division 3 as they saw off Tipperary. The Saffrons dominated a large chunk of the game, with James Loughrey finding the net and were nine points clear with 20 minutes left.

They held off the Tipp fightback to win 1-13 to 0-13.

The pressure on Offaly boss Gerry Cooney grew with a home loss to Roscommon.

The Rossies won 0-12 to 1-06 against a poor Faithful side. Offaly were level with the away side after Anton Sullivan’s penalty but Roscommon scored the final three points to take the win.
