Sean O'Neill hit with 12-week suspension

Tyrone’s Sean O’Neill has been handed a 12-week ban by the GAA's Higher Education body following his alleged involvement in incidents in a recent Sigerson Cup match.
O’Neill was on the St Mary’s Belfast side that lost by a point to NUIG. However, the game was marred by unruly scenes after the final whistle with St Mary’s players venting their frustration towards the referee after they believed he blew the match up early.
Gavin Teague from Ardboe was handed a similar ban to O’Neill. The latter is now set to miss the rest of the Allianz League after having figured in Tyrone’s victory over Kildare at Croke Park last weekend.
The suspension is a further blow to Mickey Harte’s plans, with Conor Gormley on the sidelines after ankle surgery.
