Wexford football boss Jason Ryan has revealed he might have taken the Waterford senior hurling manager's post last October.
Ryan was rumoured to be in the running for the position before Michael Ryan was awarded the post. Jason Ryan agreed to remain with the Yellowbelllies for a fifth season.
Ryan told The Examiner: “The easiest thing for me to say without causing any trouble is I thought about the job.
"It was a big decision, any decision is when you’re involved with a group. You want to make sure you’re not outstaying your job and that you’re the right man for the job.
"It was a case of getting it right in my own head. There are plenty of managers who get different opportunities and offers and I had to weigh everything up."
Under Ryan, Wexford reached the Leinster SFC final, where they were beaten by Dublin 2-12 to 1-12.
