2051 There are short repors on all games in our GAA section. Thanks for reading on what proved a nervy evening for many counties with Armagh, Kildare, Limerick and Down prevailing.

2042 I questioned whether Kildare would make the step up to prove their stature as one of the best teams in the country today.

The performance may not have been top-class, but their character certainly was.

2037 All over in Limerick, and the home team advance to the next round of the qualifiers where they'll meet Wexford. Apart from a short period approaching half-time and a brief spell early in the second half where Waterford were in the ascendancy, Limerick were the better side. The second-half sending off of Gary Hurney took the sting out of Waterford and Limerick coasted clear to win by five points.

Full-time: Limerick 0-14 Waterford 0-09

2037 Martin Clarke played a starring role for Down who came to life in a three-minute scoring blitz in Casement.

Full-time: Antrim 0-10 Down 3-13

2034 Kildare have seen it out in Navan. They showed great strength in the final 10 minutes to secure the victory. Cian Ward and many of his Meath colleagues did not deserve to be on the losing side. Meath 0-14 Kildare 2-11

Full-time: Meath 0-14 Kildare 2-11

2033 Limerick's Stephen Kelly points a very easy free to put four points between the sides. That was his seventh score of the game. Limerick 0-13 Waterford 0-09

2031 Meath are four points behind and have a free on the 22-metre line with Farrell kicking over. We're in the final minute, the Royals need a goal. Meath 0-14 Kildare 2-11

2030 Clarke is closing the game out for Down in brilliant fashion with back-to-back points. Antrim 0-10 Down 3-13

2029 Three minutes of injury-time played. Ciaran Hyland did have a half chance of goal but drove straight at Armagh custodian Paul Hearty. Austin O’Malley dropped a free in around the house in search of a goal that Armagh dealt with comfortably. It’s all over and Armagh progress to meet Tyrone in Round 3. Wicklow 0-10 Armagh 2-09

Full-time: Wicklow 0-10 Armagh 2-09

2027 Ger Collins secures his second point of the match and the feeling is that that's the comfort score for Limerick, who lead by three with just a couple of minutes to go. Limerick 0-12 Waterford 0-09

2027 Kildare have good at the right time as severe pressure from the Lilywhites eventually allows Bolton to palm the ball home from close-in. Meath 0-12 Kildare 2-11

GOAL - KILDARE - EMMET BOLTON

2026 It is into injury-time in Aughrim and Wicklow are making no impression in Armagh’s lead. The Wicklow fans are starting to leave. Is this Mick O’Dwyer’s final act in intercounty management? Wicklow 0-10 Armagh 2-09

2025 Kavanagh and Sweeney quickly put Kildare into a two-point lead with five minutes left in Navan. Meath 0-12 Kildare 1-11

2024 Down secure their passage to the next round through a third goal of the day from Mooney. Antrim 0-09 Down 3-09

GOAL - DOWN - CAOLAN MOONEY

2023 Hurney sees red for Waterford and their challenge is fading. Limerick 0-11 Waterford 0-09

RED CARD - WATERFORD - GARY HURNEY

2019 With just 12 minutes remaining Limerick post their fourth wide of the match. They still lead by a couple of points but they won't need to be reminded what happened in the closing minutes of the first period. Limerick 0-11 Waterford 0-09

2022 Gavin McPartland tags on a point for Armagh. Looks like curtains for Wicklow. Wicklow 0-10 Armagh 2-09

2020 Wicklow are on top in the possession stakes but are failing to create chances, and are not converting the chances they do create. Armagh are creating chances the odd time they do have the ball. Aaron Kernan extends the lead with a free. Vincent Martin on as a sub for Armagh. Five minutes left and Micko’s men need a goal quickly. Wicklow 0-10 Armagh 2-08

2020 Meath are enjoying the better of it in Navan in recent minutes but they can't get the crucial score. Meath 0-12 Kildare 1-09

2018 Perhaps learning to play the more obvious ball, Limerick's next attack fell to Stephen Kelly, who raised the white flag with a well-taken effort. Limerick 0-11 Waterford 0-09

2017 Limerick continue to work hard but they're putting a lot of high ball into their forwards, which the Waterford defence is dealing with comfortably. One such play almost came off when Ger Collins took a long pass and turned for goal. He looked to have the net at his mercy only for Waterford keeper Kieran cotter to produce a brilliant save. Limerick 0-10 Waterford 0-09

2017 Antrim try to muster a fightback with a point from Niblock helping their cause. Antrim 0-09 Down 2-09

2015 Tony Hannon misses a difficult free for Wicklow. They need to convert every chance they get at this stage. Although they are the better team Armagh cannot pull away. Seanie Furlong finally gets away from Donaghy to narrow the gap to a goal. Shortly after Furlong beats Donaghy again and wins a free but Furlong kicks it badly wide. Gavin McPartland and Declan McKenna introduced for Armagh. 10 minutes left. Are we in for a grandstand finish at Aughrim? Wicklow 0-10 Armagh 2-07

2015 Cian Ward has been simply brilliant from frees tonight. There are 15 minutes left and it is still anyone's game. Meath 0-12 Kildare 1-09

2014 Changes on both teams in Wicklow. Billy Joe Padden is in for Armagh and Paddy Dalton is in for Wicklow. 15 minutes left in Aughrim. Wicklow 0-09 Armagh 2-07

2014 Wayne Hennessy received a card for stepping in to prevent Seanie Buckly of Dromcollogher/Broadford getting through on the Waterford goal. The resultant free was pointed to see Limerick back in front. Limerick 0-10 Waterford 0-09

2013 And they follow it up with a point from Branagan and a Martin Clarke goal. Clarke linked up with Coulter and in the space of three minutes, Down register seven points. Antrim 0-07 Down 2-08

GOAL - DOWN - MARTIN CLARKE

2011 Magnificent individual goal from Conor Laverty gives Down a huge boost. Antrim 0-07 Down 1-07

GOAL - DOWN - CONOR LAVERTY

2010 Padraig O'Neill goes racing through towards the Meath goal but his shot, which was going wide anyway, is knocked away by Farrell. The 45 falls short and Callaghan is penalised for too many steps. Meath 0-11 Kildare 1-08

2008 Meath are back on level terms with a fantastic score from Seamus Kenny from the left. Meath 0-11 Kildare 1-08

2008 Wicklow will do well to come back from the sucker-punch of Clarke’s second goal. Steven McDonnell twists the knife with a good point. Austin O’Malley responds for Wicklow with a well worked score. The crowd, who were getting behind Wicklow, have been stunned by the goal and Aughrim does not seem as daunting as usual right now. Wicklow are battling back but they need something to happen to get themselves, and the crowd, going. Armagh keep the pressure on with another point from Jamie Clarke. Wicklow 0-09 Armagh 2-07

2007 Martin Clarke scores a much-needed point for Down in Casement as the teams go back level. Antrim 0-07 Down 0-07

2006 Shane O'Rourke punches the air with delight after a sensational point from 40 metres, kicking without hesistancy and spliting the posts. Meath 0-10 Kildare 1-08

2005 Every game is so tight as Doyle's free keeps Kildare ticking over. Meath 0-09 Kildare 1-08

2004 Barry Fitzpatrick was in the right place to save Limerick from going behind as Waterford pushed hard for a goal. The Deise really should have been in front but just moments later Paul Whyte levelled the scoring with a beautiful curling, right-footed shot. Limerick 0-09 Waterford 0-09

2004 Gerard O'Boyle has put Antrim in front after 44 minutes in Casement. Antrim 0-07 Down 0-06

2002 Gaps are opening up in the Armagh rearguard. Wicklow have seriously upped the pace. The play is getting frantic and shots are dropping short.

Out of nothing Armagh get a goal and Jamie Clarke bags his second as he connects with the breaking ball from off the ground and finds the net. Eleven minutes into the second half and this could be decisive. Wicklow 0-08 Armagh 2-05

GOAL - ARMAGH - JAMIE CLARK

2001 From that goal effort, Ward connects with the resulting 45 to bring Meath back to within a point. Meath 0-09 Kildare 1-07

1959 Back in action in Limerick. After much to and fro, the first scoring opportunity of the half fell to Ger Collins of Limerick but he endeavoured to put it wide. Up the other end of the field, Waterford, through Conor McGrath, did the same before patrick Hurney managed to get his second of the game. Only a point in it now. Limerick 0-09 Waterford 0-08

1959 Shane Connolly pushes out a low shot from Cian Ward. It was straight at the goalkeeper.

1959 A routine free by Cian Ward has Banty pumping his fist into the air once again. This is going to be a cracking second half I feel. Meath 0-08 Kildare 1-07

1958 Herron's second score of the game brings Antrim level since Mark Poland knocked over the first score of the game. Antrim 0-06 Down 0-06

1957 Wicklow come out with a new attitude in the second half and Tony Hannon points a free after two minutes. James Stafford looks to be moving with greater freedom. Leighton Glynn levels the scores as he blasts over after five minutes. Wicklow 0-08 Armagh 1-05

1956 Hugh McGrillen beats his man, comes inside to his left football and places the ball over from 35 yards. Great score inside the first minute. Meath 0-07 Kildare 1-07

1954 That was quite a frantic half. Chances of all four teams ahead now to be winning come full-time?

1943 Half-time in Limerick. The last action of the game came from Waterford's best player from the first half, Paul Whyte, who continued his side's comeback. Waterford's rally towards the end of the period should serve as a warning to Limerick, who were on top for much of that half and yet only enjoy a two-point lead going into the break.

Half-time: Limerick 0-09 Waterford 0-07

1942 Patrick Hurney gets his first point of the game with a coolly taken point for Waterford. That score was quickly followed by a point for Brian Wall, which leaves one kick of a ball between the sides. Limerick 0-09 Waterford 0-06

1940 It is an excellent game in Navan and both sides will feel the result is there for the taking. Ward is on top form for Meath. Kildare could regret a few wides in that 35 minutes. Meath 0-07 Kildare 1-06

Half-time: Meath 0-07 Kildare 1-06

1939 Brendan Herron's late score ensure the Saffrons are just a point behind at the interval.

Half-time: Antrim 0-05 Down 0-06

1938 Armagh corner back Paul Duffy received the first yellow card of the day and Seanie Furlong pointed the resulting free to narrow the gap to a point with 31 minutes gone.

Michael O’Rourke points for Armagh two minutes later to restore the two-point gap. Seanie Furlong picked up a yellow for Wicklow with a silly foul on the stroke of half time.

Armagh will be much the happier at the break. They lead after playing into a stiff breeze and they look the better team.

Full back Brendan Donaghy has been outstanding and has not given Seanie Furlong a sniff. Armagh have kicked seven first-half wides so there is room for improvement. James Stafford, who was a doubt, looks anything but fit. Wicklow 0-06 Armagh 1-05

1937 Brian Farrell slices a shot wide for Meath. We're in the final minute of added-time in the first half. Meath 0-07 Kildare 1-06

Half-time: Wicklow 0-06 Armagh 1-05

1935 Waterford have been second best for much of this half but pulled one back to reduce the margin to four. That probably should have been three when Paul Whyte had a free in front of the posts but he over-compensated for the wind. Limerick 0-08 Waterford 0-04

1935 Ward knocks over another free as Banty roars on his players from the sideline. All the talk of managers from outside the county, well McEnaney is showing all the passion that can be seen on the terraces in Navan. Meath 0-07 Kildare 1-06

1934 Niblock is unlucky to see his effort for goal stay out. Antrim 0-04 Down 0-06

1933 Stephen Kelly made ominous progress towards the Waterford goal but rather than push his luck too far he chose to knock it over the bar. Limerick have learned that rushing straight at their opponents' defence pays dividends and Seamus O'Carroll reaped reward for such a move with his side's eighth point. Limerick 0-08 Waterford 0-03

1932 Simple free for Doyle in front of the posts. There is a goal between the teams now. Meath 0-06 Kildare 1-06

1930 Superb solo point bu James Kavanagh. The Meath defenders were standing off Kavanagh and he unleashed a wonderful shot to get the score. Meath 0-06 Kildare 1-05

1929 Paddy Cunningham and Kevin Niblock hit scores for the Saffrons as they also get to within the minimum. Antrim 0-04 Down 0-05

1929 Cian Ward brings Meath back to within a point with a free. Meath 0-06 Kildare 1-04

1928 Armagh lead again after 23 minutes when Steven McDonnell sets up Paul Duffy for a point. Tony Hannon misses a 45 to level the scores. Wicklow need to make the most of their chances with the wind in the first half. Steven McDonnell extends Armagh’s lead with a free in the 26th minute.

Armagh now on top. Aaron Kernan misses an easy chance but the Orchard are creating more scoring opportunities. Austin O’Malley kicks a wide, his third of the game, for Wicklow. Jamie Clarke responds with a wide for Armagh. The wides are mounting on both sides with 30 minutes gone. Wicklow 0-05 Armagh 1-04

1926 Fantastic score from Fionn Dowling as he picks up the breaking ball and takes his time to look up and lob the ball over from 30 metres out. Meath 0-05 Kildare 1-04

1926 Justin Crozier doubles Antrim's tally in Casement. Antrim 0-02 Down 0-05

1924 Poland is on fire for Down as they go into a four-point advatage thanks to his latest score. Antrim 0-01 Down 0-05

1922 Controversy as Waterford are awarded a penalty which is then overruled on the advice of the umpires. Seems it was the correct decision but Waterford were punished further as Limerick moved forward quickly to split the posts and open up a two-point gap. Limerick 0-05 Waterford 0-03

1921 Limerick, through Seamus O'Carroll, worked a clear goal chance. The forward did nothing wrong with his shot but Kieran Cotter, in the Waterford goal, got two hands to it to deflect it over. Limerick 0-04 Waterford 0-03

1921 Daryl Flynn gets a crucial block on the ball Cian Ward aimed for goal. Sheridan and Gilsenan combined brilliantly to set up Ward. Flynn deflected the shot wide for a 45. Ward converted to register their first point in nearly 13 minutes. Meath 0-05 Kildare 1-03

1920 Morgan O'Flaherty's point for distance continue the good spell for Kildare. Meath 0-04 Kildare 1-03

1920 Aaron Kernan misses a chance to tie up the scores as he misses a free from 30 yards. Into the wind but he should have nailed it. Wicklow seem to have settled better and Paul Earls gets on the end of a move and knocks it over. Tony Hannon causing problems for the Armagh defence. Armagh sweep down the field and Jamie Clarke rounds the keeper and just manages to get the ball over the line for a goal. Great response from Wicklow as Leighton Glynn blasts over for a point. All square. Wicklow 0-05 Armagh 1-02

GOAL - ARMAGH - JAMIE CLARKE

1919 Padraig O'Neill seemed to be caught in two minds as a fine display of passing in midfield gives O'Neill a goal chance but he fires just over the bar. Meath 0-04 Kildare 1-02

1917 Paul Whyte has started with real confidence and he pointed his second and Waterford's third point to level the scores yet again. Limerick 0-03 Waterford 0-03

1915 After foiling a Waterford attack, Limerick broke smartly and a fine passage of play fell to Stephen Kelly, who pointed to put Limerick back in front. Limerick 0-03 Waterford 0-02

1915 Callaghan is put under huge pressure by Brendan Murphy when trying to find room to shoot for goal. Eventually the Kildare man opts to take the point. Meath 0-04 Kildare 1-01

1914 James Stafford, who was a doubt at midfield for Wicklow right up to throw-in, is coming into the game.

Wicklow playing long balls in to full-forward Seanie Furlong. No joy with that tactic so far but it’s early days. After an early scoring blitz both sides have started kicking wides and dropping balls into the goalkeepers hands.

Tony Hannon kicks a magnificent free from the sideline to put Wicklow in front. Wicklow 0-03 Armagh 0-02

1913 Antrim have scored their first point of the day in Casement Park. Antrim 0-01 Down 0-03

1912 Limerick led thanks to a free kick which Stephen Kelly pointed with ease but it was negated by a brilliant free from Waterford just moments later.

Paul White, striking the ball from what looked like a difficult angle some 43 yards from the posts, put it straight over.

That was quickly followed by a point for his team-mate Gary Hurney. It was then Limerick's time to reply and they did so through John Mullane, who pointed to level the teams. Limerick 0-02 Waterford 0-02

1910 Poland hits another free in a fine start for the Mourne men. Antrim 0-00 Down 0-03

1909 The Meath fans are fired up for this. Stephen Bray's sidestep and quick shot is greeted by a huge roar - the Royals lead. Meath 0-04 Kildare 1-00

1908 Sheridan is brought down but Cian Ward notches the first wide of the day as he sees his effort drift to the left.

1907 A bright start in Aughrim with both sides keeping the scorekeeper busy. Two points each with five minutes gone in front of a full house. Wicklow playing with a freshening breeze in the first half. Wicklow 0-02 Armagh 0-02

1906 Meath are warming to the game nicely as Seamus Kenny fires over after a good spell of possession by Lenihan. Meath 0-03 Kildare 1-00

1905 Cian Ward causing plenty of problems for Kildare, showing great movement to work room for his second point. Meath 0-02 Kildare 1-00

1905 Benny Coulter is fouled in Casement Park, with Mark Poland converting the free for the opening score. Antrim 0-00 Down 0-01

1903 John Doyle, like last week against Laois, scores an early goal for the Lilywhites from the penalty spot. Meath 0-01 Kildare 1-00

PENALTY TO KILDARE

1901 Cian Ward hits a brilliant free from close to the sideline as Meath take an early lead. Meath 0-01 Kildare 0-00

1859 All four games set to throw-in.

1852 Meath have indeed made two changes. Michael Burke in for Eoin Reilly. Graham Reilly replaces Paddy O'Rourke.

1845 Seamus McEnaney has said there could be a change or two to his team depending on how they fare in the warm-up.

1840 The Saturday Game Live is underway now. Meanwhile in Aughrim, a fantastic atmosphere greets the teams as they go through their warm-ups.

1830 Daryl Flynn comes in for Hughie Lynch for Kildare.

1820 We're just waiting on confirmation of team news.

1736 Getting through to the fourth round of qualifiers would be a great achievment for Limerick or Waterford. John Owens has put in a lot of hard work with the Deise - it is a tough task ahead in the Gaelic Grounds.

Limerick team: Brian Scanlon , Tommy Stack , Shane Gallagher , Stephen Lavin , John Riordan , Johnny McCarthy , Pa Ranahan , Seanie Buckley Tom Lee, Stephen Kelly, John Mullane, Mike Sheahan, Ger Collins, Seamus O'Carroll, Ian Ryan.

Waterford team: Kieran Cotter, Maurice O'Gorman, Thomas O'Gorman , Kieran Connery, Tony Grey, Conor Phelan, Wayne Hennessy, Brian Wall, Mick Ahearne, Paul Whyte, Sean Dempsey, Cillian O'Keeffe , Sean Fleming, Gary Hurney , Patrick Hurney

1720 What about Banty and his eventful tenure with Meath so far? They've already seen off Louth and Galway and, like Kildare, have faded at times in matches. You can never discount the Royals and they should put it up to Kildare today.

1718 It is a massive day for the so-called third best team in the country. Kildare have shown glimpses of what they can do but a big performance is needed against Meath.

1715 There is plenty of attention on Wicklow's game with Armagh in what could be Mick O'Dwyer last game as a manager. They played out a brilliant 70 minutes and extra-time last week. I think Wicklow will take the momentum from that game and finish the job today.

1650 It promises to be a thrilling evening of action in the All-Ireland football qualifiers. Meath and Kildare is the televised game on RTÉ Two but I'll be guiding you through the action of all four games.
