James Kavanagh has fired over some delightful scores as the Lillywhites successfully navigated the qualifier route Michael 'Brick' Walsh will be at the cornerstone of the Waterford defence as they bid to deny Tipperary in the Sunday's All-Ireland semi-final.

James Kavanagh (Kildare) and Michael Walsh (Waterford) have been named as Opel GPA Players of the Month for July in football and hurling respectively.

KJames Kavanagh was recognised for his influential performances in Kildare’s qualifier campaign during July, particularly his display against Monaghan that secured an All-Ireland quarter-final place for the county.

Michael Walsh was recognised for his inspirational performances at centre-back for the Déise in a gripping draw against Cork in the Munster final and again in the replay match, where he helped his county regain the provincial title after a gap of three years.
