RESULTS:
Tyrone 0-14 Down 0-10
By Tadhg Peavoy
8.37pm A very entertaining encounter in Tullamore. However, Laois were too far off the pace to really trouble Meath. The O'Moore Men started with vigour, but poor shooting was their undoing. Meath looked solid at the back, creative going forward and lethal when chances arose. The Royal County march on, while the O'Moore County hope for redemption in the qualifiers.
Pictured below: Shane O'Rourke of Meath gets to grips with John O'Loughlin of Laois. O'Rourke had a superb game in the green and yellow.

RESULT: Meath 2-14 Laois 0-10
8.34pm Long ball forward from Ollie Lewis, there is no Meath man there to capitalise. It doesn't matter though as it's all over.
FULL-TIME: Meath 2-14 Laois 0-10
8.33pm Another Laois attack, Meaney goes for goal from 15 metres. An excellent diving block from a Meath man. Meath are too good today.
8.32pm Laois build a further attack, it is played wide on the left to Meaney and, yes, you've guessed it, another wide. Abysmal shooting from the O'Moore Men.
8.30pm Laois will want this to be over ASAP! Meath will face far sterner tests ahead. Another Laois wide. Same again...
8.29pm Graham Reilly chases the ball to the touchline and the Laois defence put the ball out for a 45. Reilly has tormented the Laois defence. Cian Ward takes the 45: he gets it - easily. Meath 2-14 Laois 0-10
8.28pm Cian Ward wides for Meath, it's all about the Royal County now. Laois have fallen apart a little bit.
8.26pm Shane O'Rourke beats Healy to a long ball into the Laois half. Rourke feeds Healy who jinks inside the area. Meath 2-13 Laois 0-10
8.25pm Michael John knocks over a free for Laois. That's his fourth of the day. Meath 2-12 Laois 0-10
8.24pm Nine minutes left to play. Seamus Kenny is down injured and the magic sponge is making an appearance!
8.23pm This one is all but over now. Laois need a miracle. A 45 for the blue and whites. O'Leary takes it and it's perfect. Meath 2-12 Laois 0-09
8.20pm Cian Ward has a free chance for Meath. Wide on the right flank. It's on the 45 metre line and he has missed it.
8.18pm Shane O'Rourke widens the gap with a further point from 20 metres out. He had his back to goal - fine score from the number 14. Meath 2-12 Laois 0-07
8.17pm Shane O'Rourke has pointed for Meath from the restart. Meath 2-11 Laois 0-07
8.15pm RED CARD: Meaney fires at the Meath goal - and dear lord - it's wide again. So many chances are going to waste for the Laois men. But, Paddy O'Rourke, the Meath goalkeeper, has been sent-off. He claimed Meaney's wide and as he did he fell to ground. On the ground he kicked-out at a Laois player and he has been sent-off. Pure stupidity. Brendan Murphy is on for Meath in goal now.
8.14pm A chance falls to Munnelly, but it is yet another wide for Laois. Laois are killing their chances with this plethora of wides.
8.13pm Sheehan drives forward for Laois. He makes plenty of ground, but the pass to Tierney is cut out by Kevin Reilly.
8.12pm Sheridan hits a massive point from 20 yards. With his back to goal he gives it some welly and it flies over the bar. Sheridan is looking sharp as a knife. Meath 2-10 Laois 0-07
8.11pm Booth and Healy exchange passes for Laois. Meath break up the attack - Chris O'Connor clears.
8.10pm Another wide for Meath.
8.09pm Free-in to Meath. Healy guilty of the foul and receives a card for his troubles. Free Meath. Forty-five metres out: it's right and wide from Ward - that is the fourth wide for Meath.
8.07pm McMahon has a chance for a point. He skies it wide.
8.05pm Laois in a hurry to put points on the board. Padraig McMahon makes a 20 yard run into the Meath area. He is surrounded by Meath tacklers and gives away a free for holding on. There were 7 Meath tacklers on him!
8.04pm Point for Laois: Kingston frees from 20 out on the right, good point. Meath 2-09 Laois 0-07
8.03pm Joe Sheridan turns sharply 20 metres out and with acres of space, he tees up a point and sails the shot through the posts. Meath 2-09 Laois 0-06
8.01pm Graham Reilly intercepts the kick-out and points from 20 yards. Moments later, Reilly has a chance for a hat-trick, but he takes his point instead of going for the net. Meath 2-07 Laois 0-06
8pm Caoimhin King is fed the ball inside the 25 yard area. He cuts inside his marker and points. Meath 2-06 Laois 0-06
7.59pm Brian Meade hitsa wide for Meath. That's the third wide for Meath. Laois had seven wides in the first half.
7.57pm So, can Laois, stop widing so often and shut down the Meath forward line? They are the key questions ahead in the next 35 minutes of Championship action.
7.57pm Second half on the way team. The teams are just emerging back on to the pitch at O'Connor Park.
HALF-TIME: Meath 2-05 Laois 0-06
7.44pm The half-time whiste blows. Meath carry a five-point lead into the second half. Back shortly for more action.
7.42pm That goal came in the 39th minute of play. Bray has another chance for Meath, but he fluffs it.
7.40pm GOAL: Long punt forward from a Cian Ward free for Meath, the ball breaks in the area and the Laois defence fail to clear. A metre from goal, the ball is toe-poked home - goal for Meath. Joe Sheridan was the man who got his foot on the football. 7.39pm Kingston makes no mistake this time. Point for Laois. Meath 2-05 Laois 0-06
7.38pm Free in for Laois, Kingston will have another shot at goal. He missed his last free attempt so the pressure is on a little now.
7.37pm Laois have secured a point now though. Padraig Mahon got it. Meath 1-05 Laois 0-05
7.35pm Kingston with a right foot free from 20 yards out. It drops just wide for Laois.
7.34pm Graham Reilly - in his third Championship game - knocks over a point from 25 yards out. Meath 1-05 Laois 0-04
7.33pm Cian Ward to free for Meath. Right in front of the posts, it sails over the bar. Meath 1-04 Laois 0-04
7.32pm Laois are taking lots of balls into tackles, which Meath are lapping up. Laois need to play around Meath a little.
7.31pm Now there is a Laois player down injured as well. While the wait goes on a fight breaks out. The lads looked like they were getting bored waiting so had a bit of a scrap.
7.28pm Break in play for an injury here. Laois have so much ball, but their attempts in front of the sticks have been rushed and have displayed poor split-decision thinking. If they can resolve that then they can turn this one around.
Meath's Micky Burke is off for Olly Lewis.
7.26pm Munnelly hits the psot. The ball falls for Kingston. He is at a very tight angle from goal and goes for it, but it's another wide! Six wides now.
7.25pm Plenty of breaking ball and neither side is taking hold of the game. Tierney is space, 25 metres out from goal, he laces it and it's good and over the bar. Meath 1-03 Laois 0-04
7.24pm Meath's accuracy is keeping their noses in front, Laois need to be more clinical to remain in this one.
7.23pm Tierney to take the free. Twenty metres out and it's wide. Laois' fifth wide of the match.
7.22pm Mark Ward is receiving attention.
7.21pm Kingston bounces and solos, then offloads to Strong, King takes the ball forward from a handpass and Laois win a free.
7.20pm Brendan Quigley knees a Meath player and Moyles takes the free. The ball falls short of the goal. Laois break. Kingston angles up for a shot - another wide. That's at least four wides for Laois now.
7.19pm Line-ball for Meath, ball is pumped downfield to Stephen Bray. The ball reaches Joe Sheridan who fists over the bar. Meath 1-03 Laois 0-03
7.18pm Play is stopped for an injury.
7.17pm Joe Sheridan cuts in on goal from the flank, however, he loses the ball in front of goal.
7.16pm Laois lose possession to Harrington, Sheridan is fed possession for Meath - his shot at a point hits the post. This is followed by a wide for Laois' Kevin Meaney.
7.15pm Meath build again. Kenny fires in towards the Laois goal, but is is scrambled clear. Free-out to Laois.
7.14pm O'Loughlin plays in Quiqley and 20 metres out from goal O'Loughlin recevies the ball again. He plays in Healy on the edge of the area - Healy handpasses over the bar. Meath 1-02 Laois 0-03
7.13pm The free is 23 metres out from goal. Tierney hits hit sweetly and over the bar. Meath 1-02 Laois 0-02
7.12pm Free for Laois, Kingston was fouled on the ball.
7.10pm Laois have plenty of the ball, but are giving it away needlessly.
7.08pm Reilly and O'Rourke knock over two points in quick sucession. Meath have turned this one on its head. Meath 1-02 Laois 0-01

7.05pm Healy tries to double the lead for Laois, but he slips it slightly wide of the post from a tight angle.
7.01pm, We're off. Darren Strong gets the firs point of the day. Fine point from 30 yards out. Meath 0-00 Laois 0-01
7pm It's National Anthem time in Tullamore, action to get underway shortly.

1852 I'll hand you over to Tadhg Peavoy now for this match now.

1850 We're 10 minutes away from Meath's match with Laois. Web-only coverage of that match has started, the link is at the top of the page.
1848 Tyrone reach the Ulster Football final. It wasn't spectacular, Down were very disappointing after an early scoring blitz. They didn't really produce anything after that.
Full-time - Tyrone 0-14 Down 0-10
70 min Martin Penrose looks as if he seals the win, beating his man, running in on goal and placing the ball over the bar. Tyrone 0-14 Down 0-10
69 min We're approaching full-time, it looks as if Tyrone will advance. Down need a goal at this stage.
66 min Clarke sends a superb ball through, they quickly work it to Hughes with Tyrone defence all over the place. Hughes' shot is well saved by McConnell and the follow-up is wasted, What a goal chance that was for Down.
64 min Martin Clarke immediately gets Down back into it with when firing a lofting shot in the middle of the posts. Tyrone 0-13 Down 0-10
63 min Martin Penrose ends the score drought with an easy score after a Tyrone move that was quite pleasing on the eye. Tyrone 0-13 Down 0-09
60 min We haven't had a score in 15 minutes now, Clarke sends a 45 wide. Tyrone 0-12 Down 0-09
56 min Brian Dooher has an ambitious effort from 30 metres but it just curls wide of the post.
54 min Tyrone have had a couple of good opportunities in the last few minutes but they haven't taken them. At the moment it is looking good for the Red Hand but a three point lead can be wiped out quite quickly.
52 min Colm Cavanagh is furious when brought down Rafferty beside the touchline. He gets up and sticks his chest into the defender. Rafferty makes the most of it but the referee hands out a yellow.
49 min Sean Cavanagh receives a punt forward, his shot from a tricky angle goes wide.
47 min Down haven't been playing well in the last few minutes. Without being spectacular the Red Hand have established a three point lead. The big question is whether Down can respond now.
45 min Clarke with another poor effort. this time from the ground when running through on goal. Mulligan shows his class with a neat turn and clips the ball over the bar. Tyrone 0-12 Down 0-09
41 min Tyrone had plenty of men forward there, Mulligan offloaded for Colm Cavanagh to fist over, resisting the temptation to go for goal. Tyrone 0-11 Down 0-09
40 min Both sides add to their wide tallies, with Clarke's placed free disappointing for a player of his quality.
36 min Down register the first score of the second half when substitute McComesky finds the target from a free. He came on fro Poland I think. Tyrone 0-10 Down 0-09
1810 We're about to get underway in the second period.
Half-time: Brilliant half of football, Tyrone really needed that burst of points. The Red Hand had the advantage of the breeze, Down are likely to come flying out of the traps at the beginning of the second period.
35 min McKernan brings down Dooher with a very high challenge, the referee has been a busy man in this half. Another yellow, six in total in the match now.
32 min Tyrone go in front as Carlin quickly lofts the ball over when coming under pressure from the Down defence. Tyrone 0-10 Down 0-08
30 min Sean Cavanagh puts the Ulster Championship in the lead from another free. Tyrone have done well to recover from a tough start. Down have more in the tank though, this is going to be a fascinating encounter. Tyrone 0-09 Down 0-08
28 min Joe Colgan is booked for Down with Cavanagh levelling the scores. This game has been played at a frantic pace. Kalum King is also shown the yellow for dissent. Tyrone 0-08 Down 0-08
26 min Daniel Hughes goes on a superb run, with several Tyrone players being a bit over-physical with their tackles. The referee rightfully awards a free but suprisingly Clarke puts it wide.
25 min Ok, now they have. Tyrone are now matching Down in the final third, though Kevin Hughes puts the ball wide of the post. It was a difficult effort mind.
24 min These lads haven't heard of wides. Sean Cavanagh with another good score from distance, one-point game now. Tyrone 0-07 Down 0-08
22 min That really is excellent by Joe McMahon, crawling up several metres on the touchline and launching the ball towards goal.
21 min Penrose with the free for the Red Hand, Down could be out of sight. This is a very open game, feels as if a goal is coming. Tyrone 0-05 Down 0-08
18 min Down's break at pace, what a chance for goal that was. It was another flowing move with Martin Clarke at the heart of it. Gordon had the shot when bearing down on goal but it was blocked by McConnell.
The ball comes to Hughes, he decides to take a point. Four-point lead now for Down. Tyrone 0-04 Down 0-08
15 min They're keeping in touch, as Down give away a stupid free. Sean Cavanagh sends it over, aided by the breeze. Tyrone 0-04 Down 0-07
14 min Down look like scoring every time they go forward. Tyrone tried to put pressure on the man with the ball as Down offloaded in quick succession, eventually it comes to Ambrose Rogers and he finds enough time to send it over with his right-foot. Tyrone 0-03 Down 0-07
13 min Magnificent score from Dooher, Tyrone needed that. He was close to the near-touchline but a super strike just deflects off the post and over the bar. Tyrone 0-03 Down 0-06.
11 min This looks very bad for Tyrone. Stephen O'Neill is forced off injured with McGuigan coming on. They just can't cope with the slick Down attacks.
10 min Two quick frees from Down, close in on goal. Martin Clarke makes no mistake with the two kicks. Tyrone 0-02 Down 0-06
8 min Mark Poland takes his tally to 0-02, Down have really taken the initative in the match. Tyrone 0-02 Down 0-04
7 min The pattern of high scoring games looks like continuing. Crucial to Down's success today is captain Brian Dooher. He cuts the gap to a point with a composed finish deep inside the Down half. Tyrone 0-02 Down 0-03
5 min Dan Gordon with a nice point from 30 metres after more good passing play by Down. It is very difficult to defend against it, Tyrone have a tough game on their hands here. Tyrone 0-01 Down 0-03
4 min Tyrone's Conor Gormley skies the ball, sending the ball well wide.
3 min Martin Penrose with an easy free to get Tyrone on the board. Tyrone 0-01 Down 0-02
2 min Down are having all the ball, pushing forward and passing it well. Ambrose Rogers finds spaces and places the ball over. Tyrone 0-00 Down 0-02
1 min Bright start from Down and they deservedly take the lead with a terrific score by Mark Poland. Difficult angle but he sticks in between the posts. Tyrone 0-00 Down 0-01
1712 I fancy Tyrone to take this one by about six points.
1710 We're just a few minutes away from throw-in. It is a beautiful day in Casement Park.
1702 Tyrone are favourites but Down did well to see off Donegal at the end of May.
1658 Both these sides were lacking some consistency in their previous encounters in the province. A place in the Ulster final is at stake.
1656 But we'll concentrate on the match in Ulster now.
1655 Meath vs Laois will be streamed live on the web, exclusively this evening. Tadhg Peavoy will guide you through that one.
