The funds have been generated by the international matches hosted at Croke Park. Every county will receive €250,000 as part of the investment which they can choose to either invest in county-type facilities or distribute between clubs.
More applications from county boards will be processed in the coming months. There have been 98 capital projects identified so far.
A total of €26million has been set aside for major national capital projects.

GAA President Christy Cooney said: ‘This exercise underlines the projects that are underway in clubs and counties around the country and demonstrates how we have started to use the funds that were generated by the staging of international games of other sports held here at Croke Park.
‘Aside from the distribution of these funds the Association has always prided itself in the investment that we have made over a prolonged period in infrastructural projects across the length and breadth of the country, both at club and county level.
‘This is a further indication of our commitment to that approach and we believe that the enhancement of our infrastructural network will benefit the promotion of our games both with juvenile and adult players.’
