Tyrone overcame defending Allianz NFL Division One champions Derry to ease their own relegation fears with a hard-fought 0-14 to 0-11 victory at Healy Park.
Mickey Harte's men held a 0-08 to 0-05 advantage at the break with Paddy Bradley scoring four points for Derry and Davy Harte prominent for the hosts.
Owen Mulligan saw a second half penalty saved by Derry keeper Shane McGuckian and Tyrone only pushed clear towards the end as they registered the final four points through Tommy McGuigan (2), Sean Cavanagh and Kevin Hughes.
