Irish manager Sean Boylan has announced his International Rules squad for the tour to Australia later this month.

All-Ireland finalists Tyrone and beaten finalists Kerry are well represented with four players each but there are a couple of surprises.

The 27-man squad is made up of players from 14 different counties and is captained by Tyrone's Seán Cavanagh.

Meath's David Gallagher will act as the team's goalkeeper, while Colm Begley of the Brisbane Lions has been selected to compete against some of his AFL colleagues.

There is no place for Kerry's Colm Cooper, as Boylan has opted to go for size and strength over skill.

The first Test will be played in Perth on 24 October with the second Test fixed for Melbourne on 31 October.
