Colm Coyle has resigned as manager of the Meath football team.

The Royals' interest in the All-Ireland football championship ended
with an emphatic defeat at the hands of Limerick in round one of the qualifiers on Saturday night after which Coyle stepped down.

Under his management, Meath qualified for the All-Ireland semi-finals last season but this season has been less successful.

Meanwhile, Luke Dempsey resigned from his post in Longford after their interest in the championship was ended by Laois.
