Cavan club hit with six-month ban
Updated: Tuesday, 24 Jun 2008 11:40
The Cavan Competitions Control Committee has suspended Ballinagh for six months following an assault on a local referee.
A host of supporters have also been banned as a result of the verbal and physical abuse suffered by referee Gerry Sheridan – a former Cavan player – during a league game against Kilgarry last Wednesday.
The decision, which leaves Ballinagh out of the Cavan SFC and league, is likely to be appealed.
