Galway midfielder Joe Bergin picked up an Achilles tendon injury in the win over Mayo last weekend and will not be fit to face All-Ireland champions Kerry at Pearse Stadium on Sunday.
His place in the middle goes to Niall Coleman, with the rest of the side unchanged following the 2-09 to 1-11 victory over Connacht rivals Mayo last time out.
Division One leaders Galway need a solitary point to ensure their place in the NFL semi-finals, while third placed Kerry need a victory.
Throw-in in Salthill is 2.30pm.
Galway XV v Kerry: P Doherty, K Fitzgerald, F Hanley, D Burke, G Sice, N Coyne, D Mullally, N Coleman, B Cullinane, P Clancy, P Joyce, D Meehan, M Clancy, M Meehan, F Breathnach.
