The players on Cork’s senior football and hurling panels have resorted to strike action in opposition to changes made affecting the selection of the county’s management teams.

The decision taken by the Rebels at a meeting on Saturday night means players will be unavailable for training with football boss Teddy Holland and hurling manager Gerald McCarthy.

The respective squads have been in conflict with Cork officials after it emerged that the county board would be responsible for picking selectors for both managers.
