Banville to miss Wexford's opener
Updated: Thursday, 14 Jun 2007 15:53
Wexford star PJ Banville is out of the Yellowbellies' opening Leinster SFC tie against the winners of Wicklow/Louth on Sunday week, after suffering damaged ankle ligaments while playing soccer.
The Horeswood clubman missed out on his club's opening match in their defence of their county senior football title, and he has been absent from Wexford's preparations for a number of weeks.
The injury is more serious than first feared, and has been slow responding to treatment.
There are fears that the corner-forward star may miss out on the
entire provincial championship campaign.
