Request made over Walsh situation

The Carlow County Board has requested that the Leinster Council make itself fully satisfied that the rule concerning permanent residence is fully complied with in the case of Thomas Walsh.

Walsh is attempting to transfer from the Fenagh club to Bray Emmetts.

A specially-convened meeting of the Leinster Competitions Control Committee will take in Portlaoise next Tuesday, with Walsh asked to attend along with representatives of the Fenagh and Bray Emmetts clubs and the Carlow and Wicklow County Boards.

In the meantime, the highly-rated midfielder will not be allowed to play with Bray Emmetts or Wicklow.
