Tyrone will play Monaghan in the semi-final of the Dr McKenna Cup despite being hit with a two points deduction by the Ulster Council today.

The punishment was imposed for fielding college players against Derry, after it was ruled that college teams would have first choice on such players in the competition.

Despite the punishment, Tyrone will still be able to play in the semi-finals against Monaghan, as they still emerged as group winners despite the two point deduction.
