O Sé set for Clare role
Updated: Thursday, 14 Jun 2007 16:06
RTÉ News has learned that former Kerry and Westmeath boss Paidí O Sé is set to be named as the new manager of the Clare senior football team.
O Sé, who won the All-Ireland with the Kingdom in 1997 and 2000, follows in the footsteps of current Kerry minor manager John Kennedy, who ended his term with the Banner footballers in 2005. Donie Buckley managed the side in 2006.
O Sé has the daunting task of ending a barren spell with the Clare side and breaking the stranglehold that Cork and Kerry have on the Munster SFC.
He will face Waterford in the first round of the Munster SFC and a win would see him face-to-face to his native county in the semi-final.
