Casement Park was the scene for a mass brawl between Stewartstown and Ballymacnab

The two clubs involved in last Sunday’s ugly brawl at Casement Park are to face an Ulster Council investigation early next week.

Fighting broke out following the Ulster Club IFC semi-final between Stewartstown of Tyrone and Armagh champions Ballymacnab.

Following a preliminary meeting, the provincial council has confirmed it is to go ahead with a full probe into the violent scenes which occurred in the vicinity of the tunnel area of the west Belfast stadium.

Substitutes and supporters became involved in the row as the teams left the field following a 0-11 each draw.

The replay has been put on hold until after the investigation has been completed.

Both clubs have been asked to make a submission to a meeting due to be held next week.

The date has not been confirmed, but it is likely to take place on either Monday or Tuesday, according to Ulster Council PRO Martin McAviney.
