A crowd estimated to be 45,000 descended on Semple Stadium as Tipperary returned home as 2010 All Ireland Hurling Champions.

The team made their way from Dublin to Thurles in the afternoon by train, after stopping in to Our Ladies Children's Hospital with the Liam McCarthy Cup earlier in the day.

An open-top bus brought the side through the streets of Tipperary to Semple Stadium for an official reception, where tens of thousands of supporters had turned out, despite the inclement weather.

The Premier County were celebrating their 26th All Ireland Hurling title following Sunday's 4-17 to 1-18 win over Kilkenny at Croke Park.
