The CCCC have confirmed that two double-headers will take place in Croke Park this weekend as the All-Ireland Football Championship reaches the quarter-final stage.

On Saturday, Kerry will continue the defence of their crown against Down at 2pm.

That match will be followed by a mouth-watering clash between Dublin and Tyrone at 4pm

Connacht champions Roscommon will face Cork at 2pm on Sunday, with Meath's match against Kildare throwing-in at 4pm.

Television, radio and online coverage will be confirmed later in the week.

RTÉ.ie will provide text commentary on all four matches.

'Down, Dublin and Roscommon have it all to do' - McStay

RTÉ GAA analyst Kevin McStay says Down, Dublin and Roscommon face daunting challenges in the football quarter-finals.

'Down are building a team, and they're going in against a very serious outfit in Kerry, so they have it all to do,' said McStay.

He feels it will be similar task for Dublin against Tyrone: 'It's the tie of the quarter-finals. The smart money would be on Tyrone. Dublin are building - they are very gritty and honest - but again, Dublin have it all to do.'

McStay believes Connacht winners Roscommon will have wanted to avoid Cork: 'I'd say Cork was the one team they didn't want. Cork are very athletic and very dynamic and it's a difficult ask for Roscommon. It's a big match and Roscommon will be up to give a good account of themselves but they too will have it all to do.'

McStay believes the final quarter-final pairing of Meath and Kildare is much harder to call: 'It's a draw that Meath will like, and at the same time Kildare will fancy their chances. It'll be interesting to see how Meath will react to their match up with Louth. It's a very close pairing and very hard to call.'
