Liam Sheedy set to escape censure for shove
Liam Sheedy is unlikely to face any censure for his sideline altercation with Brian Cody at the end of Sunday's Semple Stadium league clash between Tipperary and Kilkenny.
The incident occured when Jody Brennan hooked Kilkenny's Jackie Tyrrell, but was then himself challenged by JJ Delaney in a way that did not please the Tipperary players around him.
Delaney is also unlikely to face any measure of disciplinary action as the incident happened in full view of referee Barry Kelly and one of his linesmen and went unpunished.
Kilkenny manager Sheedy and Cody squared up to each other, with Cody pointing a finger at Sheedy, who responded by shoving the four-in-a-row-winning manager with limited force in the chest. The pair did shake hands and were dismissive of it afterwards.
Sheedy could be pursued under a disrepute charge by the CCCC but it's not usually something they go after. Tipperary had heard nothing to that effect last night, a spokesman confirmed.
