David Walsh struck a dramatic winning goal in stoppage time to win the Dr McKenna Cup final for Donegal at Brewster Park.

Michael Murphy struggled to reproduce his spectacular scoring display of Ballybofey 10 days earlier, and was restricted to just two points, both from frees, in the opening half.

A Colm McFadden free had Donegal in front for the first time on nine minutes, but each time they took the lead, Tyrone produced a swift response.

The teams were level on six occasions, before the Red Hands pulled away with scores from Tommy McGuigan and Kyle Coney to lead by 0-9 to 0-7 at the break.

Stephen O'Neill had just shot his side four ahead when he dislocated an elbow and was taken to hospital.

And Donegal turned the game back in their favour with scores from Adrian Hanlon, McFadden and David Walsh to go level in the 72nd minute.

And it was Walsh who drove a loose ball to the net deep into stoppage time to win it for John Joe Doherty's side.

Tyrone scorers: S O'Neill 0-4 (3f), M Penrose 0-3, K Coney, J McMahon, T McGuigan, P Harte, A Cassidy 0-1 each

Donegal scorers: D walsh 1-2, M Murphy 0-3 (2f), C McFadden (2f), A Hanlon 0-2 each, L McLoone, N Gallagher 0-1 each.
