No McNamara decision expected for now
The hurling world may have been expecting Mike McNamara's resignation today but none will be forthcoming.
Clare County Board Chairman Michael O'Neill has told RTÉ News that he does not expect any communication from the senior management team over the next two days.
'To be fair to Mike McNamara and his selectors they need time to digest the contents of last Sunday's meeting with the players. That will take time and I don't expect to hear anything from them today or tomorrow or, possibly, even into the weekend.'
The senior panel expressed a vote of no confidence in McNamara in a letter to the Clare County Board in October, ahead of a meeting to discuss his tenure as Clare manager.
This came after Clare failed to win a game in the league and lost two Championship encounters before they eventually overcame Wexford in a relegation semi-final.
