Kennelly signs two-year Sydney deal
The return of Tadhg Kennelly to the Sydney Swans has been hailed by his manager Paul Roos after the Kerry player signed a two-year-contract with the club.
Roos was delighted to finally tie down Kennelly after a saga that began when the Kingdom won the All-Ireland Football Championship last September.
Roos told the Irish Examiner: 'We had a feeling that he might have been going to come back but until we heard for definite, you never know.
'And it was hard with him over the other side of the world, and with it being very difficult to get in contact directly with him.
'He's a quality player, and at the start of the year we said his body was struggling,' Roos said.
'But there is no question having the year off (from AFL) has been great for him. He looked really good when I saw him in Ireland, he didn't have any tape on, so there's no question it's done him the world of good.'
'It's great for us. It's very hard to get a Tadhg Kennelly. They don't grow on trees.'
Kennelly is also happy to be back at the Swans: 'It's good to be wanted, but I did walk out on them and I have a lot of loyalty to Sydney.
'They were my family for 10 years, so once I made the decision to come back it was always going to be with Sydney,' he said.
