Clare captain to meet County Board
Clare senior hurling captain Brian O'Connell will meet members of the County Board in a bid to end the stand-off which has developed over the status of manager Mike McNamara.
The Irish Examiner reports that players and administrators are in contact and that the playing panel would discuss the situation again after O'Connell met the board.
The controversy erupted when the Clare panel sent an letter to the board urging them to appoint a new manager. McNamara was subsequently re-appointed, and the board said it did not consider the letter as it was not signed.
McNamara is expected to attend a meeting of the board next week at which he will outline his plans for the season.
