Brady moves on to semis
Paul Brady is through to the semi-final of the Men's Open at the World Handball Championships in Portland, Oregon.
Brady defeated fellow Irish man, Armagh's Charly Shanks 21-9, 21-5 despite early indications that his hip injury was affecting his play.
Brady now faces top American, Emmet Peixoto in the semi-final.
Kilkenny's Ducksy Walsh also collected the Masters A title on Thursday with an emphatic win over California's Jay Balkenbush, while Roscommon's Marianna Rushe caused a massive upset in the Ladies' Open where she defeated number two seed, Lisa Fraser Gilmore from Canada, 21-16, 21-19.
