Donegal clubs have given the go-ahead for the county board to borrow €1.6m to develop a new GAA Centre of Excellence.

Donegal plan to build state-of-the-art facilities on a site in Convoy, and although full planning permission hasn't yet been granted, the board are hoping to get clearance to start the development in January.

The board estimate the project will cost around €3.6m and are hopeful of securing €2m of GAA central funds.

They plan to construct two playing pitches as well as an all weather pitch with dressing-rooms and meeting rooms.
