Kieran Donaghy's return to full training is a welcome boost for Kerry

Kerry's Kieran Donaghy has returned to full training two weeks earlier than expected, according to a report in the Irish Examiner.

Donaghy was given the all-clear to return to training after his recovery from a stress fracture of the foot which he sustained in the National League Final against Derry in April.

But Kerry are now reeling from the news that Tadhg Kennelly will miss the second round Championship qualifier on 11 July with a hand injury.

Kerry manager Jack O'Connor is now working with a 30-man panel after the departures of Eoin Brosnan, Mike Frank Russell, Kieran O'Leary and David O'Callaghan.

Veteran Mike McCarthy is back on the panel for the first time since 2006.
