Ulster derby the highlight of SFC Qualifiers

Monaghan manager Seamus McEnaney would surely have preferred an easier draw

Monaghan and Armagh will face off in a mouth-watering All-Ireland SFC Quailfier, while Mick O'Dywer's Wicklow will welcome Fermanagh to Aughrim.

It will be a bitter pill to swallow for Monaghan, who always seem to draw the short straw when it comes to the back-door route.

Fellow Ulster side Donegal fared much better, landing a home fixture against Leinster lightweights Carlow.

Down made a disappointing exit from Ulster after defeat to Fermanagh, but Ross Carr and his Mourne men will have the chance to get their campaign on track against London.

Fermanagh's path is unlikely to be quite as smooth, with the Garden County no doubt already planning an Aughrim ambush for the Ernesmen.

Meath will be expected to advance at the expense of Waterford, but the Royals' chastening experience against Limerick in last year's Qualifiers should ensure there is no complacency on their part this time.

2008 All-Ireland semi-finallists Wexford will have home advantage against Leinster rivals Offaly, while another derby of sorts pits Glen Ryan's Longford against Leitrim.

NFL Division Three champions Tipperary came unstuck against Limerick in the Munster Championship and face a trip to Louth as their punishement for provincial failure.
