Walsh recovers to start for Kingdom

Kerry have named full-forward Tommy Walsh in their side to face Cork in the Munster SFC semi-final replay at Páirc Uí Chaoimh on Saturday evening.

The Kerins O'Rahilly's clubman left the field injured after just 11 minutes of Sunday's drawn encounter in Killarney and had been considered a serious doubt for the trip to Leeside.

But he is obviously considered fit enough to start in an inside-forward line that also includes Bryan Sheehan.

The dead ball specialist hit the equalising free on Sunday, and impressed enough to earn a starting place at the expense of the Kingdom's captain, Darran O'Sullivan. The captain for Saturday will be named on the day, with a number of experienced heads more than capable of assuming the role.

Kerry manager Jack O'Connor has also decided to opt for a more conventional half-back line, with Aidan O'Mahony reverting to centre-back and Killian Young reclaiming the number seven jersey.

That means Tommy Griffin moves into midfield to partner the returning veteran Darragh Ó Sé. Tadhg Kennelly moves to wing-forward, while Micheál Quirke drops to the bench.

Cork, who it is widely accepted deserved to win the first game, have gone with the same XV that started at Fitzgerald Stadium.

The Rebels were forced into a late change prior to the throw-in last Sunday when Kieran O'Connor slotted in at right corner-back in place of the injured Ray Carey.

The Aghada clubman is in from the throw-in again as O'Connor has not recovered from a rib injury.
