O'Neill will be in squad - Harte

Stephen O'Neill will be part of the Tyrone squad for Sunday's All-Ireland final, despite not being named in the Red Hand County's initial 30-man squad.

There was confusion as O'Neill was absent from the squad named on the Tyrone website, but manager Mickey Harte revealed that O'Neill will be involved in the showpiece encounter.

According to the Tyrone boss, the confusion arose because he was forced to name a squad of just 30 players due to space constrictions in the matchday programme.

'Only 30 names could be submitted for the match programme but Stephen will be available and is very much part of the squad for Sunday,' Harte told the BBC.

'Stephen will be part of the team list on Sunday, his fitness levels are very high and Tyrone fans will see him in action very soon.'

O'Neill dramatically made himself available for selection two weeks ago after holding a meeting with Harte.

Elsewhere, in the squad named on Thursday, Brian McGuigan comes into the starting line-up at centre-forward, with Martin Penrose dropping to the bench.
